• 2月2日,生於清領時期的臺灣省臺南府嘉義縣。父親陳守愚為一私塾教師,母親則在陳澄波出生後不久去世;後因父親另娶,被送交至乳母家寄養。
  • Born on February 2 in Chiayi during Qing Dynasty rule. Father Chen Shou-yu (1867-1909) was a teacher of a private home-school. Mother pased away soon after Chen Cheng-po was born. Sent to wet nurse for rearing when father re-married.

  • 入臺灣總督府國語學校公學師範部乙科(校址位於現今臺北市立大學),受水彩畫家石川欽一郎指導,開啟對西洋美術的初步接觸和認識。

  • In summer, Chang Da-chian and Yu Jian-hua were about to leave for Japan. Before departure, the four painters Chang Da-chian, Chang Shan-zi, Yu Jian-hua and Yang Qing-pan worked together and drew an ink-wash scroll of fruit and flowers, with inscriptions from Wang Ji-yuan, as a souvenir for Chen Cheng-po.
  • 與汪荻浪一起獲聘為上海新華藝大西洋畫教授。

  • Because of his involvement in the 228 Incident, he was publicly executed outside Chiayi Railroad Station on March 25. Died at 53.
